AMF 2006 in Cambodia

i'm back!! india part 2 will never come! hk also will never arrive. haha... jump straight to the recent trip to cambodia la. it was my 2nd AMF (asian mission forum) where missionaries or christians from churches of christ around the world gather in a place to discuss about the problems arised during missionary work or to give each other moral support or just to meet up and enjoy each other's company. we have people coming from USA, Japan, China, New Zealand, India, Philippines, Thailand, Singapore and Malaysia of course.

the actual event is to be held in siem reap but we arrived a few days earlier in phnom penh just to visit the place. did shopping in russian and central market. russian market more for wood and stone carvings and souvenirs while central market more on clothing and accessories. very much depending on what you like but i suggest u dun miss the 2. just spend some time walking around inside of it is an interesting experience by itself. there's not much in phnom penh even though it is the capital city of cambodia. we also visited the killing fields and the genocide museum which shows how people were tortured during pol pot's regime. it was sad to see what people can do for powah!

we were suppose to travel by boat to siem reap along tonle sap but the current was going against us and it will take far too long to arrive in siem reap so we took the bus ride instead. we had thought the ride would be bumpy but it was a pleasant 1 and took about 6 hours inclusive of 3 stops(1 toilet break, 1 lunch break and 1 for the thousand year old bridge photo taking break).

we were in angkor wat for 3 days and manage to look at 6 different temples. i'm not much of a history fan but just there to marvel at the structures that was built sooooo many years ago. wonder how they do it. the place is very big and hope to see my frens from AMF again next year...
